Prior to travel Trango will assist with the production of a tailored emergency response plan covering the key risks that the traveller(s) may confront during their trip.

ERP's can be produced for individuals or groups but are especially recommended to support travel to high risk and remote areas. ERP's to support student group travel are highly recommended.   

Trango will work with the travellers and assist in the identification of risks associated with the planned journey. An emergency plan will be developed to support the journey. Features include: travel itinerary, how to reduce risk during the trip and how to travel safely to the country and then internally (air, land, sea , road, rail etc). Maps / photos / layout diagrams of key areas.  Safety equipment required. Meeting and greeting arrangements at airports. Identification of safe havens, a communications plan with local and international contacts. Safety check call schedule and escalation procedures should a call be missed. Identification of medical support in country. 

Where travel to a country is conducted at regular intervals, a standing ERP can be developed and issued to travellers when required. Where this is done, the plans should be reviewed at regular intervals. 

ERP Format

ERP’s can be produced in a number of different formats to suit the traveller and an organisations needs. In its simplest form, and ERP may consist of a single laminated card (credit card size). An ERP may also take the form of a fold out sheet but more commonly will consist of a credit card sized booklet printed on rip proof / waterproof paper. This product is called a Personal Emergency Plan (PEP). 

ERP’s can be printed in A4 (or any other format). They are retained in electronic format for use by Trango Operations and the client organisation to support travellers if required.
